Unfortunately we are being asked to help out on website SOS projects more and more as companies are let down by hosts losing their data with no back up!Director of Doyles Coaches, Kirsty, was the latest to come to SHOUT!PR asking if we can salvage anything from the two sites she currently operates. One had ‘fallen offline’ all together, the other still there but a big investment that could easily meet with the same fate at any time. Emails were routed via this suspect server too, so email problems inevitably followed.
We quickly assessed the damage and concluded that one site needed a rebuild from scratch - the site was lost - whilst the other a much simpler ‘migration’ into a more stable system and then onto a more accessible server.
“The problem can arise when organisations or individuals set up your website and email system on a server that you have no easy access to, or little understanding of. If a company then closes down or even if a member of staff moves on, you can be left without ready access to your site, an inability to maintain it and even risk a loss as with Doyles,” said Sarah at SHOUT!PR.
The Doyles Coaches new look website is due to go online w/c 8th November - keep watching!
